Handcrafted ceramics

Science, shaped
into art.

Small-batch ceramics from a two-person studio. Each piece is shaped once and never duplicated.

The Process

From earth to table

Every piece passes through careful hands at each stage, honoring the material and the time it needs.

Throwing
01

Throwing

Centered on the wheel and shaped while the clay is alive. The form emerges through pressure, speed, and patience.

Bisque Firing
02

Bisque Firing

Dried slowly over days, then fired at 1000°C. The clay transforms into a porous, durable body.

Glazing
03

Glazing

Each piece is dipped, poured, or brushed with hand-mixed glazes. A second firing at 1260°C seals the surface.

Tania and Igor

The Studio

From formulas to forms

TEI is Tania and Igor. We studied physics, but life took us in different directions — filmmaking, design, building things from scratch. The name carries our initials, but we later discovered that 定 (tei) means "fixed" in Japanese — something grounded, deliberate. It fit.

Those different paths shape how we work with clay. A physicist's attention to how temperature transforms a glaze. A filmmaker's eye for form and composition. A designer's instinct for what feels right in the hand. The wheel is where all of it converges.

Limited batches

New pieces drop with every firing

Each batch is small and unrepeatable. Once a piece is gone, it's gone. Browse what's available now.
